Material Characteristics & Corn Starch Processing Requirements

Material:
Corn starch is a natural polymeric carbohydrate widely used in the food, textile, paper-making, and pharmaceutical industries.

Challenges & Requirements:

  • Product Fineness:
The customer requires a product with D50: 50μm , which is essential for improving uniformity and solubility in specific applications such as food additives or pharmaceutical excipients.
  • Stable Throughput:
The system must deliver a consistent output of 100 kg/h to support downstream continuous production.
  • Heat Sensitivity & Stickiness:
Starch tends to heat up during high-speed milling. Excessive temperature may cause gelatinization, affecting product quality and complicating equipment cleaning. Fine starch powder is also prone to accumulating inside the mill, causing blockage.
  • Flammability & Explosion Risk:
Starch dust is a typical combustible dust, requiring strict explosion-proof design and safe system operation.

Equipment Selection

Corn Starch Ultrafine Processing

After free sample testing and online video verification, Epic Powder recommended a customized solution:
MJW-280L Laboratory-Enhanced Air Classifier Mill (Food-Grade Full Ceramic Lining Edition).

Key Technical Advantages

  • German-origin high-precision turbo classifier technology, with classifier wheel tip speed up to 120 m/s, enabling exceptional cut-point accuracy.
  • Full ceramic (zirconia) grinding chamber and classifier wheel—no metal contact, eliminating iron contamination risks.
  • Patented dual-air-channel forced cooling system keeps grinding zone temperature ≤ 55°C even when ambient temperature exceeds 40°C, fully preventing starch gelatinization.
  • Pulse-jet reverse cleaning + offline dust removal ensures long-term operation without clogging.
  • Siemens PLC + 10-inch touchscreen, supports Russian interface; local engineers can master operation within 3 days.
